The holiday season has arrived, and it's hard to believe Thanksgiving is just two and a half weeks away! With Halloween barely behind us, it feels like we've taken a sharp turn right into November, landing us in the midst of the season's hustle and bustle. Life is about to get busier than ever, so before things get too hectic, I’d like to pause for a moment of reflection. As Americans, we have so much to be thankful for.
We are fortunate to live in one of the world’s greatest nations, where freedom and liberty empower us to lead fulfilling, prosperous lives. May God continue to bless America with peace and abundance.
The United States is rich in resources, giving us the opportunity to meet our basic needs and get the help we need to thrive. With this liberty, we can confidently harness our natural creativity and ambition to pursue success beyond our expectations.
We also live in an era of extraordinary technology that advances every day. It’s amazing to think that we once lived without the internet!
An Attitude of gratitude is a wonderful way to step into the busiest season of the year. In a nation as richly diverse as ours, we have the joy of celebrating Thanksgiving in countless ways. That’s the beauty of America: the freedom to express our traditions uniquely, sharing a Thanksgiving feast that brings together multicultural dishes and flavors. This season, let’s celebrate not only with gratitude but with an openness to the diversity that makes our country vibrant.
Our multicultural family loves patriotism, culture, and tradition. My husband, a proud New Englander and military veteran, traces his roots back to the Mayflower ship of 1620! Our holiday season kicks off with a classic American Thanksgiving dinner, featuring savory roasted turkey, creamy mashed potatoes with gravy, roasted vegetables, and a host of other comforting, cozy side dishes and desserts.
In the true American spirit of diversity, our Thanksgiving table also includes flavors from my Mexican heritage. Whether it's a spicy salsa, a steaming cup of champurrado, or a few delicious tamales, Mexican flavors are essential touches in our meals. Later in the season, we’ll gather our family for the traditional tamalada—a full day of making and enjoying both savory and sweet tamales together. It’s a day of hard work and joy, and one of the highlights of our holiday season.
Sharing a batch of fresh, savory, and sweet tamales is a great way to keep traditions alive, show appreciation, and celebrate the most wonderful time of the year—and your neighbors will love you for it! Thanks to today’s convenience of technology, you can even send a bundle of delicious tamales to loved ones across the United States. Texas-style tamales can be delivered safely and on time, bringing a taste of tradition to anyone, anywhere. If tamales aren’t yet part of your holiday celebrations, consider starting a new tamale tradition this season!
Take a deep breath, relax—it’s only the first week of November! With Thanksgiving still 20 days away, there’s plenty of time to make a great plan. Whether you're cooking or not, and however you choose to celebrate, let your heart be filled with gratitude for the blessings in your life and the gift of another year to gather and enjoy.
