Shipping Information & Deadlines

Shipping and Handling Charges

Shipping and handling is unique to your order because it is calculated by your zip code and the weight of your order.
To determine the shipping and handling for your order, follow these steps:

  • Add products to the Shopping Cart.  For instance, From the All Products page, enter how many dozen of each, then click Add to Cart.
  • Click on the “Check Out” button.
  • Enter your shipping information, using the correct zip code.
  • Choose your Shipping Method (Overnight or Standard).
  • Click on the “Next” button.  You will see the Shipping and Handling Charge just above the Total.

How Your Tamales Are Shipped
Orders with Standard Shipping will typically arrive in 3-5 business days (excludes weekends). They will go by FedEx Home or Ground.

If the order is going to a PO Box or Military APO/FPO address, you will choose USPS Priority Mail. When we ship your order, you will receive an email notification (make sure your email address is valid). Orders are normally shipped on Monday - Wednesday.

If you would like to make your order a RUSH shipment, please choose Expedited Shipping when you check out.
Orders with Expedited Shipping will typically arrive in 2-4 business days, taking 2 days to arrive after being shipped.
We process and ship Expedited orders Monday - Wednesday; Thursday or Friday if you request it in Special Instructions.

Your tamales are packed in a thick-sided Styrofoam cooler with dry ice packs and dry ice to keep them cold (often frozen), and they won't spoil. Just put them in the freezer or refrigerator when you get them.
Your tamales come vacuum-sealed (Cryovac), so that they stay fresh for days (21+) in the refrigerator, and months (12+) in the freezer.

When Are Your Tamales Shipped?
Shipping days are Mon, Tue, & Wed. If your order arrives by 10 AM Wednesday, it usually goes out Wednesday. We will ship on Thursday and Friday by special request. During the Christmas season, we ship Monday-Friday, and sometimes Saturdays.

Specified Delivery Dates: If you'd like to order now and specify a delivery date prior to any Holiday or Special Occasion, you can indicate that in the Special Instructions area you'll see on the Shipping Information page when you checkout.

2017 Holiday Deadlines and "Last Order Dates"

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT NEAR CHRISTMAS, SHIPPERS ARE OVERLOADED, AND SHIPMENTS ARE SOMETIMES DELAYED LONGER THAN EXPECTED. WE HAVE A GOOD SYSTEM, AND WE SHIP AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE TO ENSURE DELIVERY BY YOUR REQUESTED DATE.

If you want to be sure you have your tamales for Christmas or Christmas Eve, order early, and do not specify a delivery date. When your tamales arrive, keep them in the refrigerator or freezer until your event.

NOTE: Shipments going to Alaska, Guam, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and APO/FPO Military are exception cases and the above dates do not apply. For APO shipments, click here to see deadline details. * Perishable items are usually shipped only Monday - Wednesday unless you select FedEx Standard Overnight for the shipping method.
